Matteo Trentin joins CCC Team in 2020 as one of the team’s most decorated riders with eight stage wins across the three Grand Tours amongst his 25 career wins to date. The former European Road Race Champion packs a fast finish and will strengthen the team’s Classics roster in the spring, where he and Greg Van Avermaet will team up.

A nail-biting finish to the 2019 UCI World Championships Road Race in Yorkshire saw Trentin just miss the rainbow stripes, settling for second place, but showed the world what the Italian is capable of in the most brutal of conditions.

I knew I wanted to be a professional cyclist when…

I never really thought about it before my second year as U23. From there, I started to focus more on training and chasing the dream to turn professional and one and a half years later, I signed my first contract.

My greatest racing memory is…

I have many but I think the picture I like the most is my European Championships victory. I broke my spine just four months before and from the day I left the hospital, I started to work towards this goal.

The race I dream of winning is…

Probably Milan – San Remo because I’m Italian and Tour of Flanders because it is the race that has the most passionate fans on the road.

If I wasn’t a professional cyclist, I would be…

I have no idea. I have a degree in sports science so maybe i could do something related to training. But I’m not sure..who knows.
