After racing with CCC Sprandi Polkowice for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Jonas Koch made his debut with CCC Team in 2019 and the 26-year-old German showed his strength and promise with six top-ten finishes at WorldTour level including three Vuelta a España, the first Grand Tour of his career.
Koch also wore a race leader’s jersey for the first time in his career at last year’s Int. Österreich-Rundfahrt-Tour of Austria before eventually taking home the Points Classification after a consistent week of racing. Koch’s potential as a sprinter and Classics rider, with top ten finishes at Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic, Brussels Cycling Classic, Handzame Classic, and the Tour of Norway in 2018, gained him his first WorldTour contract.
I knew I wanted to be a professional cyclist when…
When I was ten years old and was watching the Tour de France on the old TV of my grandma.
My greatest racing memory is…
My 130-kilometer solo victory at Tour de l’Avenir.
The race I dream of winning is…
The German National Championship, because it is one of my biggest dreams to represent my home country in the jersey of the National Champion.
If I wasn’t a professional cyclist, I would be…
Working as a bike mechanic, as a social worker or having my own coffee shop.
