Attila Valter steps up to CCC Team after winning a stage at the Tour de l’Avenir and also becoming both Elite and U23 Hungarian National Time Trial Champion in 2019. Valter started riding a bike at the age of three and a year later, he stood at the start line of his first race.

Valter will step up to the WorldTour in 2019 as one of two Hungarian riders in the peloton after always being supported on his cycling path by his dad, Tibor Valter, who also raced in the past. Valter is a typical climber and his cycling idol is Alejandro Valverde.

I knew I wanted to be a professional cyclist when…

When I was a junior. I watched the elite riders and I felt that I could be as good as them.

My greatest racing memory is…

The Tour de l’Avenir which I rode with my friends from the national team and of course, the stage I won. With CCC Development Team, I really enjoyed CCC Tour Grody Piastowskie as we all worked perfectly and secured the overall victory.

The race I dream of winning is…

The Tour de France, it’s the race of races and everyone who rides there is a legend.

If I wasn’t a professional cyclist, I would be…

I would still be an athlete trying to be the best in another discipline like basketball.
