CCC Team Rosters Announced for Trio of One-Day Races

Sports Director Steve Bauer will lead CCC Team at all three one-day races.

“Each race has its own unique characteristics which will challenge our riders to race for position at key moments and fight to have numbers up at the front for the final. All three races will act as building blocks for those riders in our Classics group but, I think everyone will be motivated to race hard and to try to go for the win. Ronde Van Drenthe requires similar skills to Paris – Roubaix with over 30 kilometers of cobbled roads, and I believe our riders should do well on this terrain. Pawel Bernas, Kamil Gradek, Jonas Koch and Szymon Sajnok all raced here last year so, this recent experience should help them to make the final selective group,” Bauer explained.

“Danilith Nokere Koers and Bredene Koksijde Classic are races that traditionally favor the sprinters in the field, especially when the weather is good. So, in order to have the team’s best sprinter present, Jakub Mareczko will join the team in Belgium after continuing to build form at Paris – Nice.”

Koch is feeling confident that his previous experience at Ronde Van Drenthe will help him at this year’s edition of the race.

“After Volta ao Algarve I have been able to do some solid training at home, and I am feeling in good shape. It is always an advantage to have previous experience at a race. The key points at Ronde Van Drenthe will be the same this year as they were last year so, I am feeling more confident in my ability to handle the most difficult parts of the race. We have a strong team lining up at all three one-day races. I think everybody is capable of doing a good performance and if I get the opportunity, my goal is to go for a strong result in one of the races,” Koch said.

Mareczko will join the team on the start line of both Danilith Nokere Koers and Bredene Koksijde Classic after Paris – Nice.

“Paris – Nice has been a tough race so far, but it has definitely been a good way to continue to build and improve my shape. Both Danilith Nokere Koers and Bredene Koksijde Classic are normally suited to the sprinters in the race so, I hope that I come out of Paris – Nice still feeling good. I am definitely motivated for these races, and I hope to be able to do a good result in any bunch sprints,” Mareczko explained.
