Sports Director Valerio Piva said that all seven riders will have the chance to go for a result at the UCI WorldTour one-day race.
“We are taking a strong and motivated group of riders to Germany next week. This is the last big one-day race of this part of the season and all of our guys, who have each been playing a support role at their previous races, will have the chance to make the most out of this race,” Piva explained.
“Of course, Jonas Koch will be motivated to try to do something because he is a German rider and then, we also have Josef Černý and Laurens ten Dam coming here from Liège-Bastogne-Liège. These three riders will also be joined by Kamil Gradek, Gijs Van Hoecke, Szymon Sajnok, and Łukasz Wiśniowski, who have all had some time to recover after a big Classics campaign. Overall, I am confident that we have a good group of riders who can be active throughout the day, jumping in the various moves, and then, if there is a sprint, we will look to position Sajnok for that.”
Koch, who will head to the start line in Germany after racing at all three of the Ardennes Classics, is looking forward to racing on home soil for the first time with CCC Team.
“Eschborn-Frankfurt is a nice race and I like racing it. Last year, I had good feelings there and you always have a little extra bit of motivation when you are racing in your home country. I will be heading to Eschborn-Frankfurt after racing all of the Ardennes Classics and I think that will help me go into the race in the best shape possible. If my legs are good hopefully I can try to do something but I think we have a good team and as a group, we can try to do something nice there,” Koch said.
