Paluta, who proved the strongest of a three-rider breakaway that was able to stay clear of the peloton in the Polish road race, will make the transition to the WorldTour team having spent his entire career, since turning professional in 2015, with CCC-sponsored teams.
“As the first and only Polish WorldTour team in professional cycling, we are thrilled to welcome Michał Paluta to CCC Team in 2020. As a Polish team, with a Polish title sponsor, it will be an honor to have the Polish road race champion’s jersey in the team,” General Manager Jim Ochowicz explained.
“At just 23-years-old, Michał has a long career ahead of him. We are looking forward to working with him to continue his development and see him realize his potential as a bike rider. By moving up to the WorldTour level, Michał will have the opportunity to learn from our most experienced riders and build on the experience he has gained in the first five years of his career.”
The opportunity to join CCC Team is a dream come true for the Polish champion.
“As a young rider, I have always dreamed of being a professional cyclist in a WorldTour team. I was always focused on my work and being 100 percent engaged, and it has paid off,” Paluta said.
“The possibility of developing in CCC Development Team gave me extra motivation to step up to the first Polish WorldTour team. Wearing the national champion jersey with the Polish eagle on my chest makes me feel honored and proud. I will push myself to the limits to show these stripes with pride.
“Looking forward to next year, I want to support the team and gain as much experience as possible. I want to learn from the team’s most experienced riders and if there’s any chance to go for my own results, I will go for it. It would be amazing to put my hands up at the finish line with the CCC Team Polish champion’s jersey.”
