CCC Team Extends with Kamil Gradek Beyond 2019

Gradek played a key support role in CCC Team’s core Classics squad in 2019 and has shown his potential throughout the season, General Manager Jim Ochowicz said.

“In his first year with us, and at this level of racing, Kamil proved himself to be a strong ally in the cobbled Classics, racing Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne, E3 BinckBank Classic, Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris – Roubaix in support of our leader, Greg Van Avermaet. Kamil showed that this style of racing suits him and I think he will continue to grow as a rider over the next year with us,” Ochowicz explained.

“We have also seen Kamil show off his time trialing abilities this season with a strong second place at the Polish National Time Trial Championships. He also took fourth place in the time trial on the opening day in Slovakia and so he is heading into the World Championships this week following a good performance. Both of these results were amongst good company so, I think this is going to be something we can continue to develop with him.”

Gradek is looking forward to continuing his development with the Polish team.

“I’m very excited to have extended my contract with CCC Team. I believe that I’ve made big progress this season and I’m happy that the team has noticed and recognized that. Their confidence in me is a big motivational boost and a reason to work even harder in the future,” Gradek said.

“I think that this season has been quite successful and I want to express my gratitude to the team for believing in me. My goal is to become a meaningful part of the team for the spring Classics, where I feel I’m at my best, and to support great leaders like Greg Van Avermaet. I’ve also shown this season, at the Polish National Championships and, most recently, at the Tour de Slovaquie, that I can perform well in time trials and that is also one of my personal goals. I want to keep improving in this area and be the best time trialist I can be. I’m here to help my leaders and it gives me great satisfaction to work for them and be part of a successful team. I want to continue to do so and showcase myself and my abilities.”
